A comment I had never heard before

My wife and I went to the Home and Garden Expo held in our town this weekend. We went on Friday morning so as to beat the crowds that would be there later in the day. Well that didn't work as there were a lot of us gray hairs that had thought that very same thing. I was wearing my MacEvil PV boxpleat kilt, a sweatshirt, fleece vest, ect.
Of course there were the stares, the nice kilt, I love your outfit, are you from Scotland and so forth but the one I remember most came from a lady in her 60's I suppose, who was with one of the exibits. She came up to me, put her arm around me, snuggled up nice and close and said "I have never seen a man in a kilt before and now I can scratch that off my bucket list." Nothing earth shattering but that was a new one for me in ten years of kilt wearing. I just smiled and said something like glad I was here for you and continued on my way.
    Another great kilted day.

Quite the achievement. You have now reached buckethood.

Too bad she didn't tell you how far down the list a man in a kilt was. Great story.

Yes, one of the great motivators to wearing the kilt is the occasion of affection from ladies of a certain age...I obviously enjoy the attention...but to see her eyes soften and smile is so nice.

You should have asked her if "a man doffing a kilt" is on her bucket list.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Hard to believe you could reach your 60's and not have seen someone in a kilt. Sheltered life?

    Woodsman,
I took it to mean a live breathing human male in a kilt. Never the less she who must be obeyed was within hearing distance or I might have pursued the matter a bit farther. I find that women in general and older women in particular become quite bold when they spy a kilted male. And yes, I do enjoy the close contact as it is really an ego boost, especially for a 70 year old.

    Wink

A few drinks together and you might have gone right through that bucket list!
