A comment that I have not heard before.
As I was out and about today, I gave greetings to a lady at the store. She then asked if I was Swedish.

Yea, I get asked if I'm Irish about every day because I wear a kilt daily now.

It could be the light colored hair and mainly build sporting a strong attitude that threw her off. Kilt on my "maybe Swedish" friend.

Now if were me who was kilted, I could answer yes to being both Swedish and Irish.

That’s one I’ve not heard before either, but if I ever am asked it, I can say that about 350 years ago two of my ancestors were Swedes. Their bloodlines have long since been diluted by many other strains, though.

I get the Irish question a lot. Around here we have a lot of Irish sponsored Celtic fests. For many the Celtic fests are the only time the general population sees kilts outside of bagpipes in the parades. So for a long time I thought that was the connection.
I think I should start responding with "no, I am Chinese". Then watch their gyros tumble as they walk away trying figure that one out.
