EPCOT Food and Wine Festival - Scotland pavilion / booth
If anyone is interested, we'll all be kilting up in September or maybe October since Epcot has a Scottish section this year for Food and Wine. Start selling your blood, saving your pennies, whatever you have to do.. It's expensive but worth the effort of kilting up. If you're game for it, send a private message as I don't know if putting our Scottish society's info (link) out to everyone is a faux pas for this site. If it's not, I'll send a link. Thanks!
As for now, here's where you can find the general info of the event:

My wife and I are headed down mid October for our first visit during this time of year. Looking forward to trying some good food. We were down in March again this year for the Flower and Garden Festival and EPCOT had lots of special food stalls set up this year then too.
Maybe we'll run into you guys down there.

Top marks to Disney for maintaining the history of the movie industry by never letting the truth get in the way of a good story! .
Scotch eggs have nothing to do with Scotland, being invented by the London firm of Fortnum and Mason. Scotch refers to the minced meat surrounding the egg. As to banoffee pie, it was invented at a restaurant in Sussex in the south of England.
What is disappointing is that there are genuinely Scottish dishes which are completely ignored - the likes of the well known haggis, clootie dumplings, Cullen skink etc.

I guess they're trying to market to the "general public" who don't know anything about Scottish food.
I'm not sure how many people would be attracted to a sign that adverstised CLOOTIE and SKINK
It would be cool if they offered current Scottish things such as Pizza Supper, Tikka Masala, and Doner!

And what about Whisky??
Anyhow I'll have to miss that event, as I was just at Disney World in January and won't be back for quite a while.

Also no mention of Irn Bru. Saw that they may have haggis but there's been rumors only on that as of now.. Guessing the risk of haggis being alien to park attendees is too risky for them. Waiting with fingers crossed. Nonetheless there's a big bunch of us in the area as is in "true Orlando", not the gawdy and endless strips of $5 t-shirt stores, theme parks, hotels, etc.. and we're using it as a reason to kilt up on the un-kilted masses.

Looks like within the next week to few weeks we'll be kilting up. Maybe on more than one occasion. If find yourself in the area or live in CFL, let's go!

I might have to make it up considering the Florida resident passes - my wife and I have our 12 year anniversary this year in October and we were debating Key West, St. Augustine, or Disney...
Always wanted to do Disney (Epcot specifically with a stay at Polynesian) without the spawn in tow.
Have fun and throw far. In that order, too. - o1d_dude
