Finally wore my kilt to school
I did it. No pictures, sadly, but I had a good experience.
When I say good, I mean it was mostly hate, but coming from mostly ghetto and "general education" Students, this was to be expected. The support I received from friends was more than enough to keep wearing it, but perhaps not to school. It becomes somewhat of a classroom disruption.
However, as much as I am able to shrug off negative comments, the embarrassment is still there. Overall I felt confident, and even got a few compliments.
Strangely not as popular with the ladies as I had hoped, but perhaps they're just hiding it. ;)

Well, lad, the high school girls might be a tad intimidated by a self confident fellow in a kilt.

Good on ya!
Wear it well, wear it confidently and wear it often. They'll run out of snide remarks.

Wear it with pride my 14 year old son wears his to school several times a year. Teenage boys being teenage boys someone inevitably flips his kilt and gets detention. Wear it with confidence

I'm 70 and often wear a kilt when I'm on our local high school campus. I'm always amazed when the "tough guys" come over to me and compliment the kilt....but I think they sense the quiet strength of a kilted gent. And the girls....you'd think I was a rock star.... You'll never be lonely kilted.
And you don't have to kilt up for just class. Kilts are great at games, dances, other functions outside of the school but on campus.

Good for you friend! You care less what others think every time you strap on you kilt.
Remember those who razz you about your kilt wearing are showing their jealousy they don't have the courage to do so.

Good for you! I wish I had owned a kilt when I was in school.
