Finding Second Hand Kilts
This post from Geoduck on anther thread got me thinking ...

My wife and I hit our fair share of thrift shops, antique / curio shops, flea markets, etc., throughout the year and I am always on the look out for all things Scottish, especially military or clan specific. Once in a while I find some tid-bit or small treasure that I talk my wife into allowing me to bring home to add to the collection in the "museum", also know as 'The Basement'.
Best find ever for me - Once I found an authentic 1800's pipers dirk at an roadside curio / junk stand and walked away with it, and several bayonets for $35.00!
Anyhow, I have only ever once came across a Kilt (Gordon Highlanders), and it was in an antique store being sold along with the jacket, cap and a military sporran. The guy wanted $1500 for the whole thing and he would not budge.
I always thought if I ever came across one I would buy it regardless of size, and offer it first on the board, then on eBay. If it didn't sell, then it would head down to the 'museum'.
Just curious if anyone else has run across any kilts in second hand shops, etc, and if you ever though of just buying it to sell? And then of course using the profits to by a kilt for yourself :-)
