Received an interesting phone call a couple days ago. I ordered my kilt through the Scottish Tartans Museum, to be woven and made by Dalgliesh. I was told they were ready to weave my fabric, but the chosen tartan, Muirhead Ancient was special order and would be $400.00 over the agreed upon price. I changed my order to Muirhead Hunting Modern (see my new avatar), which was a stock tartan for the original price of $560.00 for a 10yd., handmade, Gentleman's Kilt (I'm a big boy).
The order was placed on Dec. 14, with an 8-12 week lead time, so it would be in my hands by April 1st so I could have it by Tartan Day. I asked that they try for that date. Wish me luck!
