First time
i wore my kilt to school for the first time today. Despite being a bit chilly(it started hailing) it was still a great experience. My kilt is a casual kilt with Macdonald from usa kilts.Great workmanship, Thanks Rocky. I didn't get many "skirt" remarks which is surprising because any one who as ever worn a kilt around highschoolers knows how stupid they can be. I almost got in a lot of trouble though because while I was walking home I was getting a lot a funny looks from people. Now this I expected but then this police officer drove past me and was giving me dirty looks. For some reason this kind of set me off, I don’t know why though since I have nothing against cops. Anyway, being the vulgar little upstart that I am, I decided to flash him. After I did this he pulled over and “politely” (as politely as a pissed of cop can be) informed me that I should wear underwear under my “dress”. This really made me mad but luckily I was smart enough to keep my mouth shut and stay out of trouble. All in all though it was a pretty good day. Also I would like to apologize for any spelling errors. I tried to proof read this but spelling isn't really my strong point

Good for you Josh. I think that every male, regardless should wear kilts if they desire to do so, without the usual jokes. Those commenting usually are doing so because they are envious of your being capable of doing in public. It takes more guts to wear it than laugh at it.

Heya Josh, welcome to the board. glad you made it thru the day unscathed - in time you will not even notice any looks or comments that you get - well, you wont notice the unfavourable ones - the nice ones you will always notice
p.s. while my spelling is pretty good my typing sucks - dyslexic fingers and all that. we are a very forgiving bunch around here so no worries!!!
ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!

Good on the cop! If you have such a short fuse, it might be best for you to stick with pants and leave the kilt until you've matured somewhat.

Glad you are here Josh and it does sound like you had a great day, now the "flashing" I recommend doing it in front of a mirror by yourself, for your own well being. Some people just don't get it.

Well not quite...
I certainly don't condone flashing a police officer... that's just impulsive and irresponsible. On the other hand, the actions of the police officer ( making derisive looks and comments ) didn't strike me as particularly professional either. A bit of poor judgment by both parties.

Considering said comments came after the flashing, I would have to disagree. Sorry, Blu. Especially considering how many kids these days are seen wearing skirts (males, I should add) of the punk/goth/whatever persuasion, any individual not knowledgable about kilts could certainly be forgiven for calling a kilt a dress.
Obviously, there are those who will disagree, but the wearing of the kilt should be about pride. Maybe its my military background and upbringing, but showing a lack of pride whilst wearing a kilt, shows a certain amount of dishonour, IMO.
