First xmas gift!
I got an early xmas gift today! It's a kilt pin! It's said (I think by Hamish) that one ought to have a kilt pin for each kilt so that you needn't keep poking holes in your kilt each time you change it. I am so happy and excited to have a new kilt pin for my new kilt!
Pic or it didn't happen

Very nice indeed. I like the clean and simple lines. Is it pewter?

The box only says that it's lead free. I'd imagine that if it were pewter, it would say so. Perhaps it is some other metal alloy.

Yes, a nice one. How about a live-action shot?

I'll be kilting up for my extended family holiday later this week. I'll get one in vivo then.

In times past, some pewter did contain traces of lead but modern pewter does not. There is a very strict standard for "English Pewter", which is generally 92% tin with the balance made up of copper and antimony; I presume there is a similar standard for just "Pewter", so it may technically not conform.
No matter, it is a very elegant pin of which, I'm sure, many of us would be very proud!
Regards, Sav.
