Imagine
What would your kilted life be without Xmarks?
I feel that I would not be happily kilted while going about my daily business and evening activities. It would probably be for such events as Burns Night, Tartan Day, etc.
I want to say that I have gained a tremendous amount confidence from you all and continue learning all aspects of being kilted.

Wow Glen, that is unfathomable. I would look kinda sloppy while kilted , would not wear the kilt as often, would not know about many of the great kiltmakers around here, would not know the great bunch I ve met here, would not know a lot of history that I have learned thanks to you guys... shall I continue?

I've certainly learned a lot here - and it continues to be a source of info. Not sure how much difference it would make in terms of how I dress, but I think I'd have a lot less confidence in the idea of wearing the kilt outside a games/celtic music situation if it weren't for the site.

I would not be anywhere near as knowledgeable. Probably would not have the confidence to wear the kilt in public that I aquired here. I would feel alone in the kilted venture, rather than the closeness I feel with this great community of kilt wearers. I really can't imagine kilted life without Xmarks. If it no longer existed, it would leave me with a great void.

If not for X-Marks I would have only a rudimentry knowledge of kilts.I definitetly wouldn't be co-ordinated, possibly not wear them daily and definitely not know about others who are kilted.
And there is no way I would be sitting here wondering how I ended up with 38 of them!

Without this forum (read: the wonderful people who post here) I would be lost, not half as confident as I'm now..etc, etc.
Cheers to you all!

My kilted life would probably be much be the same as it is now. However, I would certainly not have knowledge of many of the subtleties and traditions discussed here. I can say without hesitation that through this board I've met some interesting and fun acquaintances both real and virtual. I've gained both confidence and respect through shared experiences and advice. And while this isn't the only forum of it's kind, it's the best for numerous reasons. But most importantly, by sharing pertanent posts with my wife, she has also been (albeit slowly) educated as to the nature of the kilt. This alone has cleared up many misconceptions and made my life alot easier.
For the record, I joined up the first day Xmarks went live. (There are only a handful of others that joined that day... bear at bearkilts, Colin, Jimmy Carbomb, Rapheal, Philh... and they all are still with us.) Although I've seen lots of changes, I can tell you that from the beginning this board has gotten better and better. And I believe its presence on the net will continue to encourage and enlighten and entertain new members, both experienced and niophite, just as it has me.
As an aside, let me add that this past January 22 quietly marked the second anniversary of Xmarksthescot.com (shame on me for forgetting!)
So here's wishing a belated to Xmarksthescot and a mighty thanx to Hank and staff for helping make this forum what is and will be!

I would really hate it without XMarks. I get some grief from my partner about "wasting" too much time on here, but it gives me a great feeling of community. Somehow it is just nice to know that there are other guys out there who are just as interested and committed to kilts as I am.

X Marks almost qualifies as an addiction. Where else can you find such a good group of people as here.

I stumbled across Xmarks while I was surfing the net with this really crazy idea in my head - "What if I actually wore a Kilt?" I know pipers, dancers, those guys that throw telephone poles around, and real scots wear kilts, but what if I wore a kilt - me - here in north Idaho? Now kilts do connect me to my heritage, but really? So, I started lurking on this board, searching the forums, and finally posting.
If it wasn't for the people on this board, I wouldn't own two (my new Black Watch arrived last Friday :-) ) Stillwater Standards. More importantly - your wisdom, humor, and common sense have made it all a breeze. Some day I may be smart enough to actually help someone in this community, until then I'll just keep reading, asking questions, and listening to the answers.
THANKS ALL!
