I especially enjoyed the transition phrase, "(More Uplifting News Stories)".

That could have been just a medical reference, regarding just how one attempts to eject stuck steak from the glottis using the Heimlich Maneuver (clenched fists just below the bottom of the sternum, then a forceful press inwards and upwards). Reading the news story, however, it seems what the rescuer did was enable the pilot to SWALLOW (?!)

Of course, the intent could also have been the standard "just what DOES a Scotsman wear beneath…"

In that vein, one of the things I learned while obtaining a "Lunar Tartan" kilt made by Barb Tewksbury was that another of her clients for that garment was an American astronaut, now known as the first person to play the Highland Pipes in space.

A savvy reader/watcher will notice that Mr. Lindgren is not kilted. Two potential reasons:
    1. Weight limits (8 yds of 16 oz fabric probably requires a significant amount of expensive propellent to get it to 150 miles above the earth's surface.
    2. The more likely reason can be inferred from watching the decorative tassels affixed to the drones of his pipes, or from watching the longer hair of female astronauts as they work on the ISS. A kilt pin in space would do nothing to lessen that issue…
