Man o man, this waiting for stuff!
Let's see, got a jacket being tailored by VMac, hope to have that by the end of the month, a couple pair of kilt hose, hope to have those by next Monday, and now a bespoke tweed vest (waistcoat, whatever) from the good folks at USA Kilts. Should have that stuff for me, along with a 13 oz. kilt in Modern Forrester for the little woman by Christmas, or right around then. Just ordered the vest and kilt this afternoon, both from USA Kilts.
So it goes with hobbies - wait for the cash to come in, then make the order, then wait some more!
Birthday is coming up too, and while I don't generally make specific requests, I did this time, so we'll see if I get hose, belt, buckle, kilt pin, etc. I'm not holding out great hope, but one never knows!
I hope the rabble is doing well.

I definitely know what you mean. I'm waiting on several items myself. But I received a shipping notice from USA Kilts today for a kilt I ordered just 10 days ago. I did pay for the rush service, but that is still fast. Now I have to wait for the postal service.

Those guys are great. I did the rush order thing with my semi-traditional kilt, and it was at my door before two weeks was up. I think my wait this time is due my wife's kilt and my tweed vest being made in Scotland. I didn't even ask about rush service!
So what are you getting for a kilt Tuitt? And boy o boy, that sure looks like an agile dog in your avatar!

From what I am told, the first 95% of the wait is grim , it is the last 5% that is the tricky bit.

Frank,
I'm getting a semi-traditional in the Menzies tartan. This will be my second semi-traditional. I got the first in the American Heritage tartan, and I have been very pleased with it.
Yes, my crazy border collie is very agile. She lives for the flying discs and her acrobatics can be downright amazing at times.
Well, good luck with the waiting game.

You're doing it correctly Frank.
The only way to medicate the jones is to order more "stuff."
That way the "stuff" is rolling in on a regular basis and you can experience the joy of something new while waiting for the kilt(s) to arrive.

That sounds wonderful Truitt. My first kilt was an acrylic Black Watch bought with cheap leather sporran off the rack at the local Scottish games labor day weekend this year. From there I ended up with my semi-traditional Ancient Campbell not long after. As far as kilts go, I would like a 16 oz wool one just because it's cold here! Likely as not though, I will get another semi-traditional in Wallace colors. Wallace is one generation back from my Campbell ancestors.
We have a schnoodle pup (about 8 or 9 months old) that is a great fetcher, excellent jumper and top notch excavator) that keeps us hopping. Once I have him trained to come when called, we'll start the frisbee thing. I do believe he will take right to it. He can catch balls on the bounce. He is not going to be a very happy puppy later today as his pack leader (my wife) takes him to the groomer for a bath and haircut!

Long walks,
Cold showers,
Plenty of roughage in your diet.
Doesn't make the time pass any quicker, but you will be healthier when the stuff arrives!
Regards

I don't know about the cold showers part Chas, but the rest of it sounds reasonable indeed!
If nothing else, it gave me a good laugh in the middle of a tough morning at the office...
