My kilted Son
We finally got my soon-to-be 6 year old son a kilt last Saturday at the BC Highland Game. He totally loved it and didn't want to take it off for anything. He looks comfortable and he had a smile for the whole day. My Wife even told me that we should let him to wear his kilt for her brother's wedding in November, instead of a monkey suit.
When we were walking back to the car at the end of the day, he said to me,'Dad, Now I can go to the Kilts Night with you!'
He was kilted the next day for his T-ball's closing ceremony. With the exception of the coach, no one teased him. One of the parents came and asked about what Tartan he was wearing. None of his teammates said anything either. Then again, most of his teammates are classmates as well and they are used me being kilted.
Yesterday was his third outting in his kilt. This time, it was his kindergarden graduation. We dressed him in a white polo shirt and his brown 'work boot.' Again, no one said a thing. He was running around and playing with his friends. Many photos were taken, but I haven't had the time to up load them yet.
This is only the beginning, my wife assured me that.

He looked pretty darn good in his kilt too. I have never seen anyone so proud to show of their kilt and explain why they got the tartan they did. I told my son (who was also wearing his kilt for the hour or so that he was at the games) that Nathaiel got a kilt and he started asking me what colour, and is it nice, etc.
I am your Nathaniel will be a great kilted kid. Make sure he is decked out on Canada Day.

That's great, Raphael. I hope we get to see him in his kilt when we're there for The Gathering - but perhaps not at the Kilts Night!!!

Very cool! I too look forward to seeing the pics. Kids are truly amazing. Glad he wants to be like Dad -- means you're doing things right.
The other kids not giving him a rough time is fantastic news -- to me it means they havent been 'corrupted' yet. Note that only an adult busted chops. Who says prejudices/biases aren't learned?
Dread - babe - I've seen your pics. "Warm and fuzzy" is not a surprise you Bear! Judging by fuzziness and manly proportions, I think we're from the same side of the tree.
