"My name is Ken, and I'm an addict." Or... How to stack jones upon jones.
Well, I ordered not one, but two hand-sewn kilts from non-stock Dalgliesh weaves, a few weeks ago. And they should ship the first week of May. So what did I do first thing this morning? Why, I ordered a third hand-sewn kilt, of course. This time, in a tartan of my own design. It's expected in July.
But don't worry. I can stop any time I want. No, really. I can. :/

Hmmm - maybe some therapeutic knitting or weaving would be a good idea - stop the hand from trembling and the finger twitching over the 'order' button.
That is some serious purchasing.
Maybe working on some hand made hose or garter ties would take your mind off the jones.

It rounds out the big kilt objectives I've had for some time:
1.) I wanted to own at least one Dalgliesh weave. Likewise, one that was fully hand-sewn.
2.) I already had a Buchanan Modern, so wanted at least one other colourway - I ordered two... a Reproduction, and a (Hunting) Ancient.
3.) I thought about a high-end Doublet, but don't attend enough white-tie events to justify, so decided to fund a third kilt instead.
4.) I wanted a kilt that was pleated to stripe (all my others are pleated to sett.) I also wanted to design a tartan, so the third kilt addressed both wishes.
As these were all big-ticket items not money-wise possible at any other time of the year (but fully covered by the funds I received as an income tax refund), it was either going to happen now, or not at all. Next year's refund is going toward a trip to Scotland.

Me mum made me use my income tax money to pay students loans.
I wanted ever so badly to spend it on some kilted items.
She also works in detox and addictions services, but I'm not sure you want to be cured of this addiction :P
