My name is Ted... and I am a shoe hoarder
They say the first step is admitting you have a problem.
I currently own 63 pairs of shoes/boots, with 64 and 65 being shipped now.
How could I pass on these awesome looking oxfords?

• My wife has kicked most to the garage as our walk in closet is nearing capacity.
• She makes fun of me and calls me "worse than half the women she knows", although she has some 80 pairs.
• My outfit selection begins with what shoes I plan to wear that morning.
• I have been know to wear 3-4 different pairs a day.
• I am currently designing a 12'x10' garage cabinet to house them, complete with track lighting, angled mirror and sound system.
Am I the only one that appreciates good foot wear or just a foot fetish hoarder???
Do tell.

Ted, I think your first sentence explains it. Now if it were kilts.................

Those oxfords are really quite sharp.

Spend the money on kilts instead. We'd all understand.

Well I do like good shoes, but I've only got about a dozen pairs. The two nicest I own are both kilt friendly. A pair of Sanders highland brogues and some Church's classic black oxfords (an old pair of my dad's I hasten to add - there's no way I could justify 400 quid for a pair of shoes, I don't know what the old boy was thinking of, although they have lasted twenty odd years!). My favourite shoe maker is Cheaney of Northampton and I do aspire to pair of these:

I'm a huge fan of footwear, but lack the funds to get out of control. I prefer to maintan a small stable of shoes, but do tons of research before purchasing. As my job is 90% on my feet, they have to look good and be able to hold up through quite a bit of abuse.
to the call for pics!

I thought I was bad with 10 pair of shoes. And that's counting sneakers. But only one is kilt friendly at the moment - a pair of Allen Edmonds McAllisters

All my future purchases will be kilt friendly though. Those and my Lucchese full-quill ostrich boots are my favorite foot coverings. Everything else is pedestrian and dull but comfortable for work. I try never to wear the same pair of shoes more than once in 3 days.
SO yeah - there's a little bit of envy on this side of the internet. Looking forward to pictures of your Shoemidor!

I was in the Army with a boy from West Virginia. He wrote his mother and told her he had been issued 2 pair of boots and a pair of low quarters. She wrote him back and said, quit lying...nobody owns that many shoes.

That is too true! I knew a kid from WV and he was exactly the same way! He couldn't believe he had more than one pair of shoes. He sure was happy!
Somebody ought to.
