My new kilt finally arrived!!!...with a bit of a scare...

After a long and sometimes impatient wait (sorry Matt), my new kilt from New House Highland finally arrived. But when the box showed up it looked like this

This is why it is a good idea to ship things insured. But I was not looking forward to the claim process or to another 10 or so months of Jonesing.

Thankfully the contents were completely unharmed:

And this is a snapshot my wife took yesterday right after I got the basting stitches out of the kilt. The themed hose tops were hand knit by Matt's wife Joannie...and she did a marvelous job.

I think the kilt is absolutely amazing, and well worth the wait. In fact, I couldn't resist wearing it to work today. A couple of my coworkers were nice enough to take a few more snapshots:

I love the way these pleats turned out. I got a lot of compliments today

Thanks Matt for making such a fantastic kilt for me!

    !
Goes to show you how bomb proof a well made kilt is. Even survived the USPS. Looks great on you, congrats.

What a great-looking outfit! Congratulations. I, too, particularly like the way the patterned-topped hose look with your kilt. You're giving me ideas. With that kilt, though, I prefer the 2nd sporran.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Great looking kilt, you wear it well. I especially like your hose(tops) and the most important accessory to any kilt a proper border collie!

My kilt was supposed to arrive, today. The mailman mysteriously skipped our house and I was convinced it was to avoid having to get out of the seat to walk my box up to our door (dude is really lazy, talks on the phone constantly, delivers to the wrong door, etc)... Now I'm thinking he didn't want to be the one to deliver a box like yours.

Your kilt looks great. Like the socks, too. What's the dog's name?

I hope your package arrives safely. We are having similar issues with our new mailman. It is very frustrating.

Yikes! I can assure you the box did not leave me looking like that! All the Priority Mail tape was added to it somewhere along the journey. I don't know if they had to open the package for any reason and reseal it, or if that was meant to reinforce the packaging after the mutilation it received. Looks like it was run over by a truck!

Yes, I always ship my kilts insured -- though so far only once have I had to file a claim.

Ah, much better! I looks great on you, and the hose colors turned out beautifully, as well. We both hope you enjoy the kilt for many years to come!
