Need a link for Pittsburg Kilts
The recent thread got me interested. Not sure I am ready for a non traditional, but thought I would explore.

My wife thinks my kilts are a fad, but she carries a picture of me in a kilt. So I think she really likes them.
We are both pretty traditional about kilts, not really embracing mods, untill she saw the PK in Advantage camo. That's my preferred pattern. She thinks it would be a hoot to get me one.
Anyone have one? How do they wear? How much care is required?
Thanks
David

I've got one in khaki. Far and away my favorite of my three (the other two traditional cut tartan kilts).
One of the things I like best is the options you get when buying: side (pants-style) pockets, rear pocket, detachable and matching sporran and/ or detachable and matching side pouches. I really hate not having a pocket in which to slide my keys or a penknife, and my PK gives me that.
Care is a breeze. Machine wash warm, then I hang it on a line (open, so nearly 50 inches long). I straighten the pleats by hand, and that's about it. I will sometimes run a warm iron over it if it needs to look extra-sharp, but don't usually.

tp, thanks. I certainly think khaki would be a good choice practically speaking.
I have a couple of pair of khaki shorts that I wear a lot that need to be replaced. Jeff's pricing seems fair. Might have to go a casual tartan first.
Adam, another Cincy member. Maybe we'll get this kilt night together after all.
McCarthy's in Lexington? or Muligans?

FYI, That's the poly/cotton fabric he's talking about. If you can hang your kilts on the line as he describes, it will help a kilt of any fabric to fall back into place, and need less follow-up care. But the cotton kilts will definitely need a little ironing afterward!
And David--don't forget the "h" on "Pittsburgh"! ;)

That's what spell check is for. It generally saves me from these embarrasing moments!

Come up sometime and check them out. Mine is the black denim, so maybe not exactly what you are looking for, but you can still see the workmanship. However, time is a little scarce at the moment for me with the new little one (guess I need to order a kid kilt from Jeff soon).

I noticed that they are cheaper when ordering one for yourself, a new excuse perhaps. I certainly understand the time issue. I have three girls of my own.
Hey it will just make us plan better. Enjoy them while they are young, you'll miss the time spent with them no matter how tired you are.
