New Cameron of Erracht Weathered Kilt.

Well yesterday I had the great pleasure of collecting my new kilt from our own Paul Henry. This project began last July when I met Paul at Harpenden Highland Gathering. Many months passed after that initial meeting as I couldn't decide which of mŷ Cameron Tartans I wanted for my first proper 8yd 16oz tank. After acquiring some swatches and Paul kindly sent me some fabric samples from different mills I finally settled on Cameron of Erracht Weathered Tartan from LochCarron Mill.

The fabric was initially out of stock , but Lochcarron surprised us bŷ restocking well before their advised date. I visited Paul and it was great that he was able to take my measurements without having to join two tape measures together. We also discussed every detail of the kilt, pleating options, colour of leather straps and buckles, colour of lining etc. Paul was superb and guided me through the bewildering amount of choices. Paul kept me advised of progress and sent me picture updates so that I could see the kilt coming together.

And finally the finished kilt with unique lining, very much an individual twist that Paul likes to include. I went for a Paisley pattern and left the choice to Paul.

I can't begin to say how pleased I am. The quality and finish is superb. Paul's attention to detail and the quality of his work is perfection personified. Thank you Paul. I will wear it with pride.

Pictures of it being worn will follow, when my tweed Braemar arrives. Which will be about a week.

I agree. That tartan is absolutely splendid! Love the colours! That one may give Maple Leaf a run for its money for being a nice earthy fall-colours tartan. Can't wait to see more photos of it!

    Simply Beautiful!

I was drooling over it on Paul's Facebook page the other day. Congratulations to you both.

I do so love Paul's choices of liners, one of these days I'm going to have to get myself set up with some of his gorgeous work.

Colin, Rich, Tobus , Scott & Bren. Thank you all for your comments, it certainly is a beautiful work of art.

Special thanks to you Tobus as your Colquhoun reproduction really sparked my appreciation and steered me towards the weathered palette colours. I am glad I made the right choice.
