    New Kilt and Sporran

About a month ago the firm I work for anounced this years Christmas party theme - Black & White. Every is supposed to dress in just black & white, no colors. I viewed it as an oportunity to get a new kilt. Here it is...a semi-traditional from USA Kilts:

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I found a nice stingray skin and made the sporran. Anyway, the above outfit is pretty much what I plan on wearing for the Black & White event. From what I have read the striped pattern of the shirt is probably considered inappropriate with tartan. And I am fairly certain the white collar and cuffs will raise some eyebrows. But the shirt fits the event and my wife likes it (it beats the heck out of the skunk costume she wanted me to wear).

And here is a picture of the kilt dressed down a bit:

    Ready for hiking:

    And a pleat shot:

I am very pleased with the kilt. And the service from USA Kilts was amazing. The kilt was delivered exactly two weeks from when I placed the order.

Black and white all the way, complete with matching pup-dog! I like it!

I tend to agree that the shirt seems to go well with the theme of the event, even if it isn't necessarily the type of shirt that would be traditionally worn with the kilt. For a "black and white" theme, I think you nailed it perfectly!

You made that stingray sporran?! Well done, sir!

Thank you for the vote of confidence, and for the compliment on the sporran. I did discover that stingray is not particularly easy to work with. I dulled a knife, bent a needle, mangled a stitching awl, and severed my thread several times. But my wife likes it so much that she wants me to make her a stingray purse.
