New Matt Newsome Kingussie-Ancient Dunbar [Lochcarron]
My new Kingussie from Matt Newsome:

Looks like I didn't have the center pleat lined up for the backside shot. A few comments: 1. This is my first 100% wool kilt and even though I have other wool items find this material to be a little scratchy, not bad but will need to get used to it or wear an under-kilt. 2. I've lost some weight due to a new job so I am going to have to move buckles and straps [lost 40lbs since ordered and 20lbs since re-measure, we should all have this problem right?]. 3. I like the ancient color palate it is less in my face than the modern colors.
Anyway, there it is. Hope you like seeing it as much as I like wearing it

It does look awsome. Personally, all my MAC's are "traditional" BP's, but I like the Kingussie. There's something cool about that center pleat.
TheBrus, about when did you order the MAC you're awaiting?
I have one in the queue and I'm trying to backward plan some accessories.
Thanks

Mine's a CMT--he used my own cloth from Marton Mills to make the kilt. I ordered my kilt mid-to-late January, and I just got/paid the invoice 10/29. That means he's finishing it up. I'm not sure how many days more, but it's been at least 10 months. The wait when I ordered was about 6 months... but you can't rush an artist.

Unfortunately you cannot really go by when you placed the order. A better guage is how many are ahead of you in the queue. The reason for this is that I might take 8 kilt orders in one week, but then again I may only take 2 kilt orders in an entire month. They don't come in on a regular basis. If you shoot me an email I'll let you know where you are.
TheBrus, yours is coming along nicely. With luck I may have it ready to ship out by the end of the week, if not definitely early next.

Rondo, you chose the right pleating. That looks great. Stability of one's 'figure' is pretty essential to keeping the garment fitting well and, therefore, in place. When you get to a stable place you might get it back to Matt for an adjustment. That would be well worth it.

Beautiful tartan, and the pleats look fantastic! I should also have a new MAC coming soon. And, yeah, seeing this one makes me even more anxious

Thanks for the kind comments...Matt does awesome work. Wore the kilt out all day today and the scratchyness I described earlier has subsided [or I got used to it]. Got several comments on the colors in the tartan, apparently orange and green are much less common than blues and reds. It ain't no loud Mccleod but it really pops in the sunlight.
