Recollection
Hell-o all,
Many years ago (before Kilts) while working my way through college, I worked in the shipping department at a faucet factory. I came in contact with many people, within and without the company, one in particular keeps coming to mind, the manager of the purchasing department. He was always had this question to ask everyone, "what have you done for the good of purchasing today?"
I know that my recollection has nothing to do with Kilts and Kiltwearing per se, but it has struck me to ponder this question.....What have we done today to spread the joy of Kilting?

I myself built a fully-functioning time machine, went back a few years and handed Hamish Bicknell his first kilt. (Yes, Ham, that was me.) The look on his face as he crossed from confusion to purposeful determination was priceless.

Interesting thought Glen.
Well, today...
I visited a new client, a hotel owner. He liked my kilt and announced that he was Welsh. I told him the kilt is the most comfortable thing a man can wear. His customers around the bar gave me strange looks, but no comments.
I met with our headmaster today, he's Scottish but has no interest in his heritage. I told him he should wear a kilt and be proud of his background.
Later I spent the evening on radio promoting celtic music and culture.
I hope I've done a bit to spread the joy of Kilting today.

promoting the kilt...
I am giving several presentations this year to local community groups, such as the girl scouts, the public library and our local nature conservation center, about "all things Scottish" and of course, I will be wearing my kilt.
Two of the talks for the library & the nature center will be on Sir Alexander Mackenzie, the Scottish-Canadian explorer who beat Lewis & Clark to the Pacific by more than a decade.
Cheers,
T.

Glen,
Great thought to keep in mind, and deed. Somewhat like the Boy Scout "doing a good turn every day".

Hey Todd,
You aren't by any chance giving any talks up in St. Louis are you? I'd like to meet you sometime.

St. Louis...
No talks in St. Louis; I will be up in St. Charles for Tartan Day, of course!
Perhaps we can schedule a "meet-up" for that weekend? Page & I, along with several other folks from Springfield always come up.

Absolutely!
I hope to have all the kit to go with my kilt by then. I doubt I'll be able to drag my wife there, but who knows.
