Replacement Prince Charlie Buttons?
Hey all, have been busy and haven't been on for while.
Does anyone have a source for replacemnet square buttons for a Prince Charlie jacket and vest? Looking for both the larger and smaller sized buttons. I'm missing a couple of each from my kit. We've got a military ball coming up in March, and I'm wanting to get the repairs done in plenty of time.
Thanks for your help!

I know the J. Higgins, Ltd carries replacement buttons. (http://www.jhiggins.net). Also Celtic Croft carries them. (https://www.kilts-n-stuff.com). Online marketplaces like esty also has them occasionally. Good hunting!!

Yes they're widely available, the only trick is getting matching finishes.
Those same buttons have come in silverplated, Rhodium plated, nickel plated, chrome plated, and in shiny or "antique" finish.
In general the ones I see nowadays are shiny chrome.
Or you could replace all the buttons! I was looking into things like this, but I got lazy and kept the standard chrome square buttons.

Yes, the trick seems to be in finding ones to match the current buttons without having to replace them all!

It shouldn't be difficult, I just visually compared the buttons I saw online to the ones on my Prince Charlie, and the ones that came were close enough.
My situation was a bit trickier: I had to replace one of the buttons on my waistcoat. Being that the waistcoat buttons are in a row close together, any difference would stand out.
So I bought TWO new small buttons, put them on the epaulettes of the jacket, and used one of the original buttons for the waistcoat, the other for a spare. For the epaulettes it's not obvious, as long as they match each other.
