Tartan Day pay it forward X2

Well it seems fairly apt that I should do a pay it forward today... One of our members did a good deed for me recently and I'm fortunate to be able to make a couple of small items available to... ?

First off we have a copy of that book... You know the one. I'd like to see this go to one of our newbies, as there is probably more benefit in it to them... Just tell me why you want it... Best reason 2 weeks from today gets it.

Second for your consideration we have a Pendelton wool tie in Campbell tartan... When I picked this up I thought it was Dress Gordon, but sadly it has a white and a yellow line, making it Campbell... I suspect both my Maclean and Lamont ancestors would be spinning in their graves if I wore it, so it's available... I'd like to see this go to someone who's been around for a while and feels they'd make some use of it.

Tell me why, 2 weeks, yada yada yada...

I'd like catch and release rules to apply... ie dont take them to sell (not that you'd make much), but if you decide you don't want/need then throw them back to the forum...

Why? I'm a newbie and I would very much like to avoid the profound sadness that would follow the embarrassment of inadvertently and unintentionally making a serious mistake or to err in some way. I don't want to offend my ancestors and I don't want to be "that guy"!

Come on chaps! Don't look a gift horse in the mouth! I can't think why these have not been snapped up!

My odds are looking pretty good but I'd rather have some competition from other newbies.
Maybe we should search them out from the kilt board newbie forum and drop them a link to this thread?

Well, dang. I understand why but you have to wait a couple of minutes between posts. I don't have the time for that. I'll have to PM them instead.

Thanks Kiltedrennie for being a honest sport. I'm John a fellow newbie who is looking at getting ordering his first kilt at the end of the month. I would love the chance to make sure that i wear it proper and don't embarris myself

I'd love to have the book so I don't make my husband look like a fool! ;) Plus it would give me good bedtime reading.

I do think that even without a good reason (there is no kilt police ) kiltedrennie should get the book.
It's a rare thing that people actually seek out competition if they could get something for free.
    Hats off to you.
And obviously thank you for offering, I don't need the book and I'm not gonna put on a Campbell tie.
