    Went & did it...

I pulled the trigger on one of Robert's tweed kilts. The pattern I chose is "557". Great has been great to deal with so far. Her responded to all my questions within minites. He even helped pick the pattern based on my wardrobe & expected use.
Gunna be a long number of weeks. On top of that, Ive been informed that Im not allowed to say "I want me kilt."... at all!

On the plus side I went to a local store where a lady said, "Its nice to see that!". After a short chat she told me that she hadnt seen a man in a kilt snce she left Aberdeen.

I've always been in two minds about tweed kilts. But the more I see then, the more I am warming to them. Looking forward to the pictures.

    Regards

Soon that won't be a number 557 on the RKilts website, but a name that Craig gets to choose. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
    Cheers

I'm starting to warm to tweed kilts, too. The 557 and 558 are really catching my eye.

Well done! The 557 is a very smart tweed (I am completely obssessed with tweed and all of the endless colour possibilites and schemes), as almost all of the others!

    Congrats,

I don't see any way you will be disappointed. It's a sharp looking tweed. I purchased a tweed kilt from Rocky two years ago (Sorry, Robert) in Lochcarron Poacher, and it consistently gets more positive comments than either of my tartan kilts. They're easy to coordinate with other apparel and give you a real "dressed" look. They also harken back to the days when Scots wore simpler fabric patterns and whatever was produced by local weavers.

Given that tweed and Robert's expertise, I think you've got a winner. Can't wait to see the finished product.

You will enjoy it. The tweed is lovely, and substantial in weight. It is a very serviceable cloth and will fit many occasions. Yes, it will get comments. That's been my experience as well. Enjoy. Can't wait to see the photos.
