What is your favourite kilt wearing outfit?

What is your favourite kilt wearing outfit? Irrespective of occasion, how you look to others or what they may say, how do you most enjoy wearing a kilt?

Although looking your best on a special occasion is a really great feeling, neither my Montrose nor my black Argyll have seen light of day for years and even the tweed Argyll very rarely.

What I get the most pleasure from is just wearing my casual tartan kilt, with a loose polo shirt on top. No hose or shoes, although for practicality a sporran and sandals if venturing out, but just kilt and polo for maximum freedom and comfort does fine. Sure it won’t win any beauty contests, but then neither would any other less comfortable daytime attire, at least on me.

If my wife has no objections and she is quick to let me know when she does, I’m happy; not in the least because the weather has to be warm enough to permit it and that does not happen often in this part of the world, especially of late.

I thought I would ask the question because that is how I’m able to dress at present most evenings and weekends for the first time this year and it reminded me how relaxed it makes me feel being able to wear a kilt like this.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

So far this summer, my go to outfit is a short sleeve cotton button down shirt with a five yard thirteen ounce wool kilt. I also don sandals and sporran when heading out to the great outdoors.

My go to right now is my USAkilts casual "Fraser Hunting", with a cotton safari type shirt and hose and boots. I have to wear compression stockings so I wear them under the hose. I do also like nice cotton polo also.

The combination I most enjoy is a 16 oz, 8 yard kilt with nice tweed jacket , with or without waistcoat depending on weather or occasion, neck tie, kilt hose and self-tie garters, polished brogues if out somewhere nice, or soft leather shoes for comfortable day activities. Some might say I tend to overdress for the occasion but I really enjoy the look and feel.

    Some version of this:

My go to kilt is my Navy Edzell PV semi-Traditional from USA Kilts, normally with a 'Rock' T-shirt, soccer [futball] socks, short boots, 3" belt, Wyvern sporran, and a blue or black Balmoral bonnet.

My Holyrood P/V kilt, a cotton/linen safari-styled shirt, comfortable hose with garters, Doc Marten's boots, A_Hay sporran, fore-and-aft hat.

Simple but tasteful THCD with a slight twist.

Well, I wear a kilt most of the time, and always enjoy it. But I'll say the kilt related "outfit" I get the most pleasure from is my renfaire garb, because as I put it on I know I'm going to have a great time among lots of good friends.

You all look great, but I personally like the Iron Maiden t shirt/kilt combination:
