    Yesterday was a "two-kilt day"

Not sure if it's the last appearance I'll have with the pipe band (a couple of egos out-of-control have me wondering whether or not it's what I "signed on" for, but we'll see). Played with the band in the local Veteran's Day parade yesterday morning, primarily because it's how I've come to express my appreciation to the Vets (Thanks to all of the members of this forum who are veterans, whatever service), and to the memory of my grandfather who was wounded three times in WW1. I think I've mentioned that the band's a "kiltie" band, so we each wear the tartan we feel most appropriate for the day; yesterday I wore my Mod. Hunting Robertson "tank." Finally got out of that pipe band rig about 4 P.M.

The evening's events were an annual Fall "Artwalk" where shops up and down the main street of town exhibit art by local artists. There must be close to 50 venues, and one can never hope to make it to all of them. I decided earlier in the day that it would be a great opportunity to be out, kilted.

Around 5:15, I kilted up in my Paisley District tank, kilt shirt and sport coat, met a couple of women friends who don't "mind" being seen with a man in a kilt, and began to wander about. Hundreds of folks saw the kilt, and even though the breeze was a bit cool, with a light drizzle falling intermittently, I stayed reasonably warm. One fellow remarked, "You're not from around here, are you?!" I replied, "I most certainly am," and concluded my remark to him with, "It's not sub-zero temperatures, yet!" Several young fellows said how much they liked the look of a kilt. Where and when it's convenient, I'll encourage others to consider their own explorations of wearing such manly attire. The event was over at 10 P.M., but it was a very enjoyable evening. My only regret? I wish there'd been at least another gent or two roaming the streets and sidewalks for the artwalk, dressed in kilts. Maybe next year . . .

    Hey Mac,

Me too. Realized it was a two kilt day when I put on my second kilt of the day.

Also started out marching in Veteran's Day parade wearing 16oz Macdonald of Kingsburgh.

Came home, rested up, then went back out to do the shopping and other chores. Switched to my AmeriKilt putty. Was gonna have to feed a buddy's pup while he's away and didn't want the dog pawing my Strome kilt.

But, point is, I had the same realization...I've worn two different kilts today...
