Yet Another ex-MoD Cantle Clears $200US on eBay

This shiny, unissued cantle closed a few hours ago at +$200US.

Probably as close to mint as you'll find at this point. HERE

I had a $100 bid on it. Didn't think it would last long, but had to try.

Was keeping an eye on this one also Artificer. Don't know where this guy (a member here) keeps getting them. Unfortunately his description of it being a MKll was a little off base in that it is a MKlV model (note the smaller dimples on the cantle. Never the less a good price once again.

I was wondering about his source for these as well. It really was a beauty.

Artificer, I'll be contacting you about making some extra bags for this one...

Yeah, I think the days of seeing these go for less than $200 are over. Unless one just happens to sneak through under the radar, there's enough interest in them to keep the selling price up. And I expect they'll go for even more than this as time goes by and they get harder and harder to find.

celt72, welcome to the MoD cantle club!

Congrats and welcome to the club. That is still cheaper than I paid for my first one.

    First one $300

    Second one $150

    Third one $140

I think I did ok as a whole. LOL

My MKI had a buy it now and I jumped at the $140 price.

Congrats! It's a beauty. If I wasn't broke from paying two fall tuition bills, I'd have given more of a run for your money! I really want one of these - or a similar repro - for my 1745 kit....

Just a thought but is it the fact that you do wonderful work that may be the reason that the price for these is going up, ie people are buying them because you turn them into a work of art. I know where I would be sending mine if I was ever lucky enough to get one.
Friends stay in touch on FB simon Taylor-dando
    Best regards
