    A Non-traditional Kilt Belt?
    Greetings all,

I'm looking for something other than the traditional hook-type kilt belt. What I'm looking for is a 2.25" brown leather belt with a brass tongue buckle, i.e., a buckle like a traditional men's dress belt. Does anyone have a source?

    Thanks,
    Phil

Phil (not you, him) had a great thread about a do it yourself non traditional kilt belt here:

    Just might fit the bill

    Cheers

I can't find the thread now, but Pour1Malt posted a link to the guy who made his wide kilt belt and buckle. You can see it in photos in this thread. Hopefully he'll pick up on this thread and post the link again.

Thanks, guys. Tandy has a 2" belt blank but I'm no leather worker. The Home Depot belt might be a better bet.

Phil Cunningham (no, not that one.)

    Just remembered these guys

Next best option might be Amerikilt

I think the hard part is going to be to find a 2.25" buckle. Parade store sold the buckle by itself but then you need to build the belt.

If you're interested, I can help you out with that.

Hmmm... too dang many Phil's around here  - oh yeah where are my manors, welcome and good luck with a belt. I now have two home brew belts - one brown, one black - its a pretty darn quick and easy project if you're so inclined.

The Scottish Tartan Museum has some belts. Look towards the bottom of this page:

    Thank you kind sir. :)

The local Tandy store has a 2.5" blank as well, but I think that's overdoing it a bit. I think I'll try my hand at a 2" Tandy belt, as that is what's readily available and then order an AK belt if I mess that up. The AK belt is what I'm looking for except for the chrome buckle as I'm looking for brass. Mine is for a UK which has 2.25" loops rather than the AK's 2" loops, but I doubt it'll bother me.
