I had to stop what I was doing this morning and listen to that segment.
I love her performances, and her rendition of Bonny Portmore is my favorite vocal version.

I consider myself fortunate to have experienced a Loreena McKennitt concert about a week and a half ago. ABSOLUTELY the best concert I have ever been to. I am so used to attending shows where the vocalists just don't sound very good live as compared to their heavily edited recordings. I can definitely say that her voice is even more incredible live. It was also nice to attend a concert where the fans respected the performer and music by being quiet during the performance.

Not that I particularly dislike any of her songs but I found that I had a much greater appreciation of several of her songs after hearing them live, one of those happened to be Bonny Portmore.

I too heard that piece on NPR yesterday, and was taken back to the concert I attended a few weeks ago. I heard of her through another X-Marker and we attended the event kilted (of course! :D ). Some photos of that evening were posted by Cirthalion.

I agree, her voice is absolutely amazing and her music is truly beautiful. I am also appreciative of how she went to Galicia and other parts of Spain to expand her musical repetoire.
