Kilt in Richard Dresser's "A View of the Harbor"
My wife and I went to see the matinee performance of Richard Dresser's play "A View of the Harbor" at the Merrimack Rep yesterday afternoon.

I had been intrigued by this line in the Lowell Sun review:

    Quote:

Anderson Matthews is a marvel as Daniel, the patriarch with more than a few tricks up his sleeve -- or his well-worn kilt.
Well, a hat tip to the MRT for not making a complete mockery of highland attire. It could very well have been a sartorial train-wreck, but Matthews and Costume Designer Devon Painter manage to pull it off with aplomb:

The kilt elicited a few chuckles from the audience, but Carrie and I thought it was particularly appropriate for Burns Night afternoon. (Especially having been to the St. Andrew's Society of NH festivities the night before!)

Anyhow, the show was great, but ends its run at the MRT this Sunday, February 1. Anyone in the area who wants to go should hurry to get tickets.
