Beautiful Snow
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...e/SDC14631.jpg
The snow has been with us for three weeks but last night's fall was the heaviest I have seen here since 2001. Snow like this is relatively common in the north of Scotland but it is not so often that it lies to such a depth here in the south. My home is only 550 feet above sea level. Snow was too deep to take the car out, but I welcomed the opportunity of some much needed exercise walking to the health centre for my blood test, a distance of about a mile and two hundred feet lower down in the floor of the valley. This is the scene on the road down to town from my house.

The bard seemed to be feeling the chill also.

The sun has come out and this is the view of the back garden from my back door taken a few minutes before posting this. So serene and so much nicer than all that horrible black depressing rain we had to suffer from mid October till mid December. I will have another walk in the afternoon and go to visit Ann.

What a lovely winter wonderland! How many degrees do you have over there now? Nice to see that you brave the snow and go kilted anyways!

It is not particularly cold, temperature gets up to around freezing point during the day, lowest nightime is about -5c or +23f.

Smashin' pictures Alex. We've had another heap of the white stuff down here too. I love snow... so long as I don't have to drive in it. Good move leaving the car at home.

It's getting beyond beautiful and becoming annoying, frustrating and depressing.

That's not to bad! We're having temperatures in the area of -15 to -20C (5 to -4F) here in Oslo now. Quite chilly, but very beautiful! It'll be interesting to see what the weather is like when I get "back home" to Bedfordshire on Friday.

Great pics Alex. You should get a pair of cross country skis with all the snow. It's great fun.
Skål!

Great photos Alex, we haven't had anything like that here yet.

Wonderful pictures. Thanks. Glad you are able to get out and about in it.
(had our turn LAST Dec- January, was out of power for 3 1/2 days, huddled around the wood stove. Just rain this year!).
Enjoy.
