I know the idea of a leather kilt drives some of the traditionalists batty....heheheh With that being said, this year I am going to be able to make multiple kilt purchases, including a USAF tartan one, the Masonic tartan one I want, a utility kilt, and a leather kilt.

I have one of Robert's custom made leather kilts and I'm delighted with it.

I looked into the RKilts one as well. One of the things that I found interesting about the KiltThis one is that the apron is replaceable and is adjustable so that you have 5 to 7 inches of adjustment you can make on the kilt and still have the apron fit properly. KiltThis sells one leather kilt with a reversible apron that has Black Watch tartan on the back of it, which was interesting as well.

I always appreciate suggestions and haven't completely ruled out the RKilts one, that's for sure.

Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid, but to each their own. Maybe Ron Macdonald (Riverkilt) will come on here to tell you about his leather kilts. He loves 'em.

I'm no wearer of leather kilts, but I'm very much a fan of Robert at R-Kilts. He's highly skilled and offers quality products. I have a couple of belts from him and they are in every way superior.

I have one of Robert's leather kilts and I love it. It's a shame that I don't wear it often.

Aye, Arizona just south of the Utah line. I own FOUR leather RKilts....main reasons...Robert as a human being. Perfect Quality. And the smell of leather...most addictive to me. They are bulletproof in foul weather. And, amazingly cool in summer. More I wear them the more they fit my body - sort of like breaking in a baseball mitt. Also owned an early Utilikilt leather but liked Robert's better. The early UK had challenging corset lacing on the sides and only one hip pocket. Current colors of RKilts on hand in my closet are British Rebel Tan, Buckskin (Robert calls it saffron), Green, and Blue. Oh, all my RKilts are the cargo pocket model.

And, I should probably mention his Ranger Belts. I like them so well ordered a Ranger Belt for each kilt. That way they are ready to go - don't have to thread each time...

Are the kilts heavy? Yup, top quality leather...about 5 pounds for the ones that fit me...course some of that is the metal trim...
