Hey hey, daddy-o. Interesting theme challenge?
Shoot me some ideas, I'm thinking about greaser themed kilt outfits. Any suggestions are welcome. Let's make it a discussion? Righto.

One item I can think of is a "lettered" High School athletic jacket, if the event is held in a cool environment. Penny loafers instead of brogues are also a must. Against most common ideals, white "Bobby socks". Just be hip with what ever you decide.

    Classic or modern greaser?

White t-shirt with a package of cigarettes in a rolled up sleeve. And of course a tube of Brylcreem...

I'd be thinking...Grease the Movie (http://www.greasemovie.com/). And, as Liam suggests, Brylcreem...because..."A little dab'll do ya." (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6F4GtyRfto)

Just realize which tartan will make it a great greaser theme.. It's right in front of our faces.. The XMTS Tartan! It almost look like jean pants. That'd be perfect to go with the black leather shoes, the white shirt w/ cigarette roll up, a black belt w/ some simple buckle, a black leather jacket, and some Brylcreem.

A black leather motor cycle jacket , boots , a snug plain white or black t shirt , a bandana somewhere , something leopard print . Look up rockabilly & psychobilly bands like Mad Sin , Reverend Horton Heat & The Koffin Kats & do what they do - just switch the blue jeans for the kilt .

Great question JDuPree! I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks where it was leather, Brylcream and a t-shirt with a Camel filter-less pack rolled into the sleeve. I was giving our young friend the benefit of the doubt (ie Ron Howard as "Richie" in the Happy Days TV series)
Better yet, the movie "American Graffiti" Those people are more or less my age (then and now).

Still pondering how to add a kilt to the formula.

Sounds like a good "look" for me to try to an informal dinner party this evening.

Unfortunately, i don't have the X-Marks tartan for the "blue jeans" look but I can wear my black AmeriKilt for a dark jeans look. Motorcycle boots with scrunched down white socks/hose; white dress shirt (roll up the sleeves?); black leather belt with plain buckle; slicked back hair (semi long); black leather jacket. That oughta do it. :)

I'll try to get a snapshot. Maybe...

I think I can pull a greaser look very well, but with the mohawk of mine. That knocks down a peg for me.
