Barb,
With respect, a suggestion from you is much more than a suggestion!

I think that instead of trying to hold it in the center of populations we should find the place with the least population. Then everyone who attends is on equal footing.
I vote for Nunivit.
Seriously guys. Nothing has been set, nothing even discussed.
There can't always be an annual Kilt Kamp unless we get more teachers and more students. The two Kamps we have held have had only Barb and I teaching. (And I was there only to round out the bill because most students were interested in Barb's 5 day course, not my two day one.)
If we want to make this a truly attractive annual convention thing we need to start thinking of getting Matt teaching a 2 or 3 day course on Box Pleats and Older styles, Me with about 10 sewing machines teaching Contemporary Style and Barb with 10-15 students teaching Hand-Sewns.
Then perhaps get Rocky involved, bring Way2Fractious back, get AlanH involved, and even bring down Robert Pel to talk about leather kilts.
This would mean at least 30-35 students signed up, paid for, and ready to travel.
As great as I think that would be I don't actually see it happening soon.
So, let's not get too excited or worked up over a location for a Kilt Kamp that hasn't even been talked about yet.

I would attend such an event. Largely just to meet the people I have bought from, or want to in the future. The trouble would be getting all I wanted to see from that well rounded of an agenda. I still haven't got a good enough grip on string theory to do the "two places at once" bit that should be possible in a multidimensional universe.
I dunno how many kilts I am really going to make, though. In the end it was less expensive to just buy them, for me.

String theory, tartan, sewing. Hahaha. I love a good thread with quantum physics jokes!

Wow Steve that really sounds like it would be a great class/convention session. Might be something to aim for in the future. "Dream big or stay home."

The Big Gig sounds wonderful, but til then, my vote is for ABQ, cause Barb will go there, AND it's driving distance for me (a long drive, albeit).

That's what I did for the Kilt Kamp in Franklin. I just went down for the Friday seminars and to meet the people.

I will probably never make my own kilt. While I have the technical ability, I just don't have the patience. I make my kilts by contacting the kiltmaker and giving them my measurements.

ABQ would be within driving distance for me, as well. Although I'd probably fly anyway. Western Kansas/OK-TX Panhandle is just too boring to contemplate (although Southern Utah is much, much more boring than anything else I've ever driven).

Wherever, whenever, we've got to have these for snacks.
