Well my ignorant ex-landlord had the nest destroyed. What a dopey thing to do.

That's a shame. It's sounds as if she wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

All I know is that my orange trees are full of bees every day, and there are plenty of other flowers in my yard for them to buz over. I don't feel any bee guilt.

I wish I could ahve gotten to this thread sooner, I grew up around bees as my dads is/was a beekeeper. ( you havent lived till you chew on some freshly spun out honeycomb!)
I could have given you some #'s to call for local keepers.

thats too bad about them just killing them off.
everyones so afraid of " africanized" bees......I blame the media ( anyone heard of swine flu?)

hope the new living quarters are bee free

Ya, it is the media that keeps trying to drum up a " Africanized, killer" bee scare; it's just a tiny problem. I've heard from bee keepers that the Africanized bees make quite a bit more honey, and groom themselves better, so don't have the mite problems that the European honey bees sometimes have.

I haven't seen any honey bees around here for two years now. I feel bad that hive was destroyed with the bee situation being what it is.
