Now I can see Eddy Izzard wearing something like that, along with his high heels.
But me, Nope, I will stick to the traditional, crabbit old bugger that I am
-
Oooohh Chris... Careful. It is definately not what I would even consider wearing personally either, but that doesn't mean it automatically twins up with high heels or any other forms of female dress for that matter. That's a bit harsh ol' chap. You may well be thinking it, but you're not supposed to say it.

Exactly John.
Please remember folks :
Rule #9
– This forum is not the place for the discussion of cross-dressing.
Thanks.

Those several who said that the kilt looks unusual / undignified / non-traditional, and that they'd never wear such an outfit apparently have forgotten that it's a uniform.
For a doorman.
At a hotel.
The same as any of these: http://www.google.com/search?q=hotel...w=1280&bih=892

Errr... no. the people who have commented are making observations on the Kilt, not the people wearing it or their reasons for doing so. I think we all grasp it's a uniform. It's the styling that is being discussed and the hope that it doesn't (or does, depending on your view) spread to a wider world.

More Missoni marketing:

Going a bit downscale this time. . . no mention if "Tar-zhay" would be offering the kilts as well!

Yes its the styling that is being discussed and after seeing this style of kilt modelled in the flesh so as to speak, I have to say that I have seen much worse styles of kilts and worse when some people wear these styles.
As I have said previously the guys that I spoke to at the door of the hotel looked fairly smart in this design

I'm sorry people, but to me it looks like a really bad test pattern for a television set. Different for sure but not my cup of tea. :?
-
The design certainly is not everyone's cup of tea, but we have several gents wearing this pattern every day of their working life and if they thought it was so grotesque, they probably would not wear it.
I think that there is more to kilt wearing than traditional tartan kilts (which I consider the best looking kilt) or some of the more modern designs we see in the upmarket kilt shops.
We all want kilt wearing progressed and more people donning the kilt, and if young people are to be involved in more regular kilt wearing then as with the way of young people they will experiment with their own individual styles.
In saying that, the number of young people participating in the World Pipe Championship in Glasgow was fantastic and of course they all were wearing traditional kilts
