Apalled!
I have only been on this forum for a couple of days but I can't help posting...I hear all of this talk about Jonesing while waiting for the NEW kilt! I am ashamed and apalled to say that I haven't even ordered my first kilt and I am ALREADY Jonesing. Somehow I never thought it would happen to me.
Maybe I will have to go Avonlea's route of making accessories to calm the jones so I am ready for the BIG DAY.
BTW the flashes that slide look great! I live in Amish country so maybe I can get a harness maker to build me a sporran belt (as per advice on this post!)
All help will be appreciated.

You can make many of the accessories yourself relatively easily. I even made a dress sporran to go with the USA kilt I have on order. I've made a couple other sporrans as well. Give it a shot, it's fun even if the first efforts don't come out the way you want.

There aren't a lot of people here that haven't said the same thing. It's kinda like crack, but more expensive.

Ahh, Cousin MacGreggor,
You be a kilt junkie for sure already. 'Tis a happy affliction though.
Started the same way for me. Saw my first Utilikilt about a year ago. The idea of an informal kilt seeped deep into my brain pan. Took three months to order the first and another three months for it to arrive.
But the affliction is a powerful one and I found myself ordering other kilts to medicate the jones of waiting for the first one. Then the craving for tartan kilts began.
Today, a mere year later, I own 23 kilts and am thoroughly addicted beyond any hope of rehabilitation.
Abandon all hope Cousin MacGreggor, you are one of us now.

Only a year and 23 kilts? Oh my god, I am in trouble. At least you could have a disclaimer like some ( I hear) prono sites. Kinda along the lines of "abandon hope all who enter here"
So how does one get one's spouse to come to terms with this little problem?

Sorry Cousin MacGreggor, can't help you with the spouse situation.
Was married for 20 years but been single for the last 20. The four women in my life since my first kilt arrived last year have enjoyed being in public with me kilted.
Maybe your wife can help "control" your affliction...left to my own devices I've been running wild.

Well MacGreggor,
I almost hate to tell you this, but it is a wonderful time in life with the anticipation, the constant look down the street if your kilt is on its way, or just checking out the web sites.
I would love to talk more, but I must go look and order another kilt or twelve.
