Trendsetter???
Hell-o all,
I was a little late getting to the coffee shop this morning. But when I walked in one of the owners real loud said "Glen you are the man!". Of course a thank you was given, and then I asked him what he meant.
He stated that he and his girlfriend were standing in line to get some movie tickets and after they bought them they turned around and saw a guy wearing a kilt.
Now I do not consider myself a trendsetter, just one who likes comfort.

Yes, I think you are a trend setter and the same thing can be said to a lot of guys here as well.

After I gave my recent kilt speech at school, I came into class yesterday to "what, no kilt?" (I usually only wear them 2 out of every 4 days at school) and several different people telling me they had seen kilts over the weekend. I guess once they get sensitized by knowing one of us, they start noticing. They tell me there is another kilt-wearer here on campus, but I still haven't met him.

I have to say, I've seen more kilts in Denver in the past couple of months than I ever have. Utilikilts have taken off like gangbusters here, I see 'em everywhere!
From the kilt capital (of Colorado, anyway).... Iain

NOOOOOOO!!
If UKs become common around here, I'm going to have to switch to traditional kilts full-time in order to stand out!!

Well, if we spread the good word too far and too fast, one day, we might have to switch to tartan trews to stand out from all the kilts!!!

If standing out is your only goal, there are ways to accomplish that without wearing kilts.
Speaking for myself, I welcome the day when men everywhere have a viable alternative to trousers. (That day is coming.) I look forward to dressing just like everyone else, as long as it's on my terms.

Well, for the record, was just joking. I wear the kilt for a number of reasons, none of which are related to standing out in a crowd....and I look terrible in trews too. :-)
