sizing differences?
Just a question in general. Has anyone noticed size differences between companies? I just got a SWK Nightstalker Standard. 50" waist. Measured my waist at 52" but the fit is almost perfect. Thinking about an Amerikilt, but not sure if I should go with their 50" waist or the 52" one. Any advice would be welcome.

with any made-to-measure kilts, always give the exact measurement where they ask for it.

I would tend to agree. You obviously had an experience contrary to this, as have I, but overall I have ordered based on personal measurement and have not been let down yet.

And if you have a choice (i.e., you're between sizes from a kiltmaker who makes kilts in standard waist sizes, rather than custom fit), get the larger one, not the smaller one. You can always move the buckles a bit, and no one will notice. If you get the smaller one, and the underapron shows a bit, it will look too small. If it's custom fit, I agree - give them whatever measurement they ask for.
