Advice and a Story
I was thinking of the kilt wearer, sorry I can't remember who your are, but you were happy you wore a kilt 8 days in a row. I am happy that now I wear one of my two about 8 - 10 times a month. I know I have a long way to go.
I have been wearing a kilt to church on Sunday now since late last fall, I think. Before when I would come home from church, I would change right away, because I didn't like being in dress clothes. Well, the last two Sundays I thought "I am in comfortable clothes, why should I change." So the past two Sunday's I have stayed in my kilt for the whole day.
Well, today I did the same, and it was getting near supper time and we didn't really know what we wanted so we decided to go out to a local restaurant. I had just run upstairs to measure some old belt buckles that I have and they will fit my belt that I ordered without a buckle. My wife thought I went up to change and when I came down she thought I had put the kilt on to go out. I told I had it on all day and she is just so used to it now she didn't "really notice" I had it on.
When we got ready to leave, she looked at me in my black Survival UK, with the pockets off, and said, "I feel like I should go and dress up!" She didn't, and I said I could put the pockets on to look less dressy. ha ha I didn't.
Ok, now to the advice. I was thinking about being dressed up by wearing a kilt and was thinking about Easter Sunday when I have to read in church and most people do dress up more that day than others. I will be wearing my tan Mocker, my off white kilt hose with the design woven in on the top, some tan flashes that we are going to buy the ribbon for and make, and I was thinking of a white shirt. Now I only have plain ol' white dress shirts, long sleeve and not the puffy sleeved kind I some kilt wearers wearing. I was also thinking of some sort of neck tie that would match the kilt, but not a suit coat. I will have black shoes.
Does that seem like it will be a good combination? I have never dressed way up while wearing a kilt, but I want to for this day. Any comments or suggestions? Remember, it is a tan Mocker and I am not in Scotland, and not in a wedding, I am just going to church.
Thanks
DALE.
