Two items today/ Buzz Kidder and Sportkilt
Got my Country Sporran from Buzz Kidder today. They shipped it fast!
They advertise the color as brown, and I guess it is, but not as dark as I expected. I would say a dark tan. They do not have a photo of it on the website. Not totally certain I am going to keep it, it may grow on me. Like a fungus.
Also, my wife got her "Ladies kilt" in Black Stewart today from Sportkilt. I guess I will post an opinion after she sees it and tries it on.
Now, I am awaiting my semitrad from USA kilts. Not due until mid-April.

That's a busy month for gear for you! I am jealous. My new sporran isn't set to arrive for another week or so.
What, besdies the colour, is not making you jump up and down about the sporran?

Besides the color being questionable, I like the workmanship, and the weight. Plus it's soft.
But it's a far cry from sporran I got from you, Colin.

look at it this way, if the new sporran doesnt work with the kilts you currently have (color-wise i mean) its a good reason for you to go out & buy some new kilts!!!
Always remember, every dark cloud has a silver (or tartan) lining!!!
ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!

I was unsure about the brown when I got mine, but it quickly became my favorite to wear with my Gordon kilt.

If the colour is really an issue (you may get used to it) that can be fixed. If the workmanship is good than you are ok.

Here's the update on this........
My wife's "ladies kilt" was too big. So we sent it back. Can't complain that she has lost some inches.
The sporran issue is different, though. I still was unsure about the color, and I have been trying my darndest to find boots that matched. I found some, in the over $100 range. Too much for my paycheck. I had already decided to get leather hiking boots that are low enough to wear the hose up, and high enough to wear the hose low. Found those, at a good price, but too dark.
I have been scouring my town for brown leather dye for the past month, since I liked the idea of the $16 kilt belt.
Today, I finally found the dye, hidden at a saddle shop. Remember, I live in cowboy country. Moo.
The belt was darker than I hoped, and too dark for the sporran. Just about right for the boots.
With an evil laugh, I seized the sporran and used the leather dye, throwing caution to the wind.
How did it turn out?
Marvelous!!!!!!!!!!!! Ran out and got the boots. Once the leather dye stops stinking, I have my ensemble. And I will take a photo with the leather and the Scottishkilt and post it soon.

Just remember to use a polish after the dye to set it so it won't get on your cilt.
