Matt Newsome has made mention in passing on some of his posts that he designed a family tartan for a German name. That would be me. I'm Welsh decent on my mother's side and I could wear the Thomas of Wales or Williams of Wales tartans. However, I wanted something for my father's side. I haven't found any indication that my father's side of the family is anything but German. Today the mounted certificate arrived from the Scottish Tartan Authority. I'm official! Many thanks to Matt Newsome whose expertise and hard work made this possible for me. I submitted a rather poor tartan example to him and some family history. He in turn presented me with some possibilities which were a vast improvement on what I did. I had the easy and enjoyable job of picking the family's favorite. Matt ordered the material and worked with Wanda McSwain to make my first tank. I don't have a copy of the tartan on this machine, but if interested it can be found by searching number 6878 at the Scottish Tartan Authority. It doesn't come up for me under surname. I'll be wearing it for the first time this weekend at a wedding in Las Vegas. Wedding pics later. Again, many thanks to Matt for another super job.
