Well, I did it: Adult School
I jut pitched a proposal to the local adult school to offer a class next year (January or possibly February) on making a kilt. I pitched them
"Make a Contemporary Kilt"....where they'd be making X-Kilts
and
"Make a Scottish Kilt"....where they'd be making two-buckle tartan kilts pleated to stripe from poly-vis or poly-wool. If this class flies I'll have to write another guide on how to make a 5 yard quick-and-easy tartan kilt. I guess I need to make one or two to develop the method, huh? I'll also have to find a local supplier of the material in at least 4-5 tartans.
The Contemporary Kilt class would meet three times from 7:00 - 9:30. The tartan kilt class would meet four times from 7:00 - 9:30. I have no idea what I'd charge, but probably about $35.
Classes would be given at the local High School, in the Home Ec. room which apparently has 18 sewing machines.
Fingers crossed for me on this, I think it would be a lot of fun!
