    Kilted at Mount Rushmore, SD

Just got back from a vacation with my wife and grandson to the Black Hills in South Dakota. We went to Mount Rushmore over the 4th of July where we encountered one of the security guards at the main gate wearing a kilt. I struck up a conversation with him, he told me the tartan is "New Scotland" (Nova Scotia). I asked him if there was any special reason for that particular tartan? He told me the tartan was the best match for their uniform shirts. I told him about Xmarks and that he would be able to find kilts and accessories advertised and he could also ask any questions about kilts etc. as there are more that a few knowledgeable members willing to share their expertise. Must be great to be able to wear the kilt to work.

That rocks. None of the security companies I've ever worked for would've let me get away with that! Heck, for most of 'em, it's been a battle just to have a beard! (Which I notice the lad in the picture also has).

Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

Methinks that the appearance of the kilted gent in security uniform is a strikingly handsome presentation.

BK (Before Kilt) I went to Mt. Rushmore. It is an AMAZING experience.

Enhanced by finding a kilted brother, I can only image that it could be more fun.

Mt. Rushmore is something that every American should see, it is a very moving experience.

    Cheers,

I'm glad that he's wearing it (or even allowed to wear it) but it looks a bit ill-fitting...the apron looks narrow and it looks a bit short. But refreshing, nonetheless, to see a kilt.

That is a great picture I think beloit is correct about the apron, and I can't help but think that the xmarks tartan would look better with his uniform. It would be really cool to see though.

Paha Sapa is a sacred place for sure.

That kilted cop picture needs to be added to the Kiltphotos. Can't recall where they are but think there are some kilted police and corrections officer photos.
