UK eBay as a source
I want to share this resource for things Scottish and Kilt related. After all, Scotland is still part of the United Kingdom: meaning that there is a lot of used Scottish accoutrements out there. Looking for a used doublet or kilt jacket? They are there at reasonable prices if you are willing to wait.
I've shared some of my finds here, but I think this is a great source for budget Highland wear.
Now probably isn't the best time to look since Highland Games season starts with The Gourock Games on May 11th and runs right through the summer until Invercharron on the 20th of September. People will be selling in late September, but I am also seeing people listing clothing items now.
one bit of advice, make sure the seller is willing to ship to your country.
Also, read the descriptions really well.
And happy hunting!

There is a Sheriffmuir doublet up for sale as well right now: 40S though.

Good advice!
I have purchased many items off of eBay that were shipped from the UK. Two things I would add based on my experiences. 1) Check the shipping price carefully, it may not be worth the overall cost with what the exchange rate is right now. 2) Insure your package! I have had several items not make it from overseas. Get, or insist on parcel insurance. It is worth the extra money.

At times I've found that the cost of shipping across the pond negates the great deals to be had from there. No way around it, though.

Ditto, I had one vendor double the price just for shipping. It was his way of getting what he wanted. You can guess I reported it.

Good idea. I've done that. I've ordered many things from the UK and have been very pleased with all but a couple.

All my e-bay UK experiences have been good so far (knock on wood). Limited to one jacket, and tartan cloth twice, but all good.

Almost all of my ebay experiences have been good. I've done it a lot and think it's really good.

I do most of my shopping on the UK site... simply a greater variety of items listed. Its where I got my Argyll from... and shipping didn't kill me, either!
As with ANYTHING on that site... you really have to investigate the shipping costs.
