EMS Tartan??
I know that there is the MacMedic Tartan that is used in some aid tents at events, but is there an Emergency Medical Services Tartan? I like the fact that there is one for the Firefighters and Police out there, but saddened that there isn't really an EMS one readily available.
People say that EMT's and Medics are the forgotten children, hopefully they won't be for long.

The red and white (tablecloth as some like to call it) is the MacMedic. Most EMS tartans that I have found are standard tartans that a particular EMS group had adopted as their own. I still have been unable to find a true EMS tartan.
Maybe someone will decide to create one.

I have a kilt in MacMedic tartan (if you do a search on the terms Newsome and MacMedic you'll find my review of it) and I love it... it's deeply symbolic to me, and you can't beat Matt Newsome's work... but I confess that the number one comment I receive on it is "hey, why are you wearing a tablecloth?"

That's unfortunate, since it is a very meaningful tartan. I think the Rob Roy tartan looks the same, save has black check instead of white.
Unfortunately, I have to admit that I don't find either tartan aesthetically pleasing.
In answer to the question, I don't know about an EMS tartan either. The Royal College of Physicians, The Royal College of Surgeons, and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society all have tartans, but I've never seen anything EMS related.

The tablecloth comment is something I am trying to avoid. It is going to be bad enough answering the "Why are you wearing a skirt?" question. I really don't need the double insult of "Why are you wearing a skirt made out of a tablecloth?"
It really irks me when ignorance leads the charge to insult.

Mr. MacDougall, I'm sorry, but the esteemed MacMedic tartan gives me the willies. I was an infantry medic, my brother is a firefighter & was EMS; but I can't reconcile myself to the colors & pattern. I saw your pic and you carry it as well as anyone with that particuliar plaid.
Can someone design a new tartan for EMS?
