    Enough for a sporran?

Saw this the other day and thought "hey I could make a sporran out of that". Its the mane from a Highland cow. Its about 10" W by 20" L and has a very thick hide to it. Looks like enough for the front and a flap but not quite sure about enough for the sides. Would going with a cantle type style use more or less material? Ideas/suggestions?

It should be enough to make the front of the sporran which is what you want. A nice smooth leather for the back and you're good to go.

I'd make a hunting type sporran. Use leather for the sides and back and for the cantle. I've made many of them and they are fun to make.

    Hunter Style

What is a "hunting type" sporran? Sounds interesting. Is there a pic of one anywhere?

Thanks for the link MonsterDon I was wondering if thats what it was. The ones Matt's selling from Ferguson Britt are just jaw dropping. Will need to sharpen my skill set if I ever hope to get near those.
