Maybe it's because I haven't seen kilt pins as ornate as this, but it looks like a pin that a woman would wear on her suit jacket rather than a kilt pin. On a colorful tartan, the colors of the pin would be lost. I guess the colors would pop on a solid colored casual kilt, but then wouldn't the pin be too fancy?
