Red face Silly tartan choices (No, NOT Sillikilts)

I got to thinking the other day, that maybe I aught to get a Mackintosh (clan) tartan -- so at least when people ask me about clan affiliation, (being the computer nerd I am) could say that it's because I have several Mac computers and own several iPods... Yes, I know -- dreadfully silly but why not? Unfortunately, I can't say I care for that particular tartan, although Mackintosh Hunting is rather nice and Mackintosh Ancient looks like it belongs in an Austin Powers movie.

Makes ya wonder then, if there's a Mackintosh tartan, maybe someone out there created a Microsoft (Windows) tartan... Or is that just too beyond the pale?

Speaking of which, does anyone own a corporate tartan? If so, which? and more importantly, why?

I quite like all the Mackintosh tartans. But then, I like the Clan Chattan tartan too! (See my sig. line - no offence taken. I agree with you about the Mackintosh Ancient.)

Seriously, have a look at the Ancient Hunting Mackintosh by House of Edgar if you like the Hunting one. It's quite different than the Lochcarron Hunting Mackintosh tartans.

Afraid I don't own any corporate tartans, but tartan ferret gives a listing of all registered corporate tartans, which I was going to list before realizing that it's hundreds of tartans. There are some interesting tartans listed, such as Asahi (an Asian beer), The White Stripes (a popular band-they also have a hunting), and, of course, XMTS.

Of course not all tartans are registered. Here's a page with some registered and some unregistered corporate tartans: http://www.scottish-wedding-dreams.c...ate-setts.html

I'm slowly building my case for a Wal-Mart tartan so that when I find the proper people to pester on such, I can wear it to work.

Very interesting indeed. I don't know if it'S House of Edgar though... But this is what I got in a Google Image Search for 'Mackintosh Ancient Hunting'
