Anyone willing to share paranormal experiences?
Disclaimer: I'm not looking for a debate on the existence or nonexistence of spirits, ghosts, faeries, grogoch, pixies, elementals, demons, goblins, elves, trolls, angels, gnomes, changelings, leprechauns, Crom Dubh or other critters, astral or otherwise.
I am, however, fascinated by the paranormal. I was wondering if anyone else would be willing to post any experiences or stories about things seen that seem to defy logical explanation.

I had an encounter with a pair of normal pants that defies logical explanation.

By most accounts, my entire existence comes under the heading of paranormal.

Were they pale green pants with nobody inside? I met them once in a dark and gloomy snide field...

Well, here goes.
A long time ago, when I was about sixteen, I was out riding my bike. It was just before lunch, and it was a pleasant fall day. The sky was overcast, but it wasn't raining.
As I pedaled along, I mostly had my head down, as I was pedaling hard. At a random interval I looked up, and saw a cross in the sky. Now, I already said the sky was overcast, and that hadn't changed. It was just made out of "cloud" or mist, and was just below the layer of overcast clouds. Now, I have to point out this was not a vague shape. This was specifically clear and sharp. Actually it looked liked someone had done some sort of precision sky-writing. That's what I presumed it was. "Oh, neat" I thought. "Someone has drew a cross in the sky with a sky-writing airplane. That's appropriate I guess, since it's Sunday. Oh well." and I continued pedaling. I neither saw nor heard an airplane in the area, but sometimes they are too far away to hear, and can be too small to spot at a distance. I thought nothing of it. I glanced up every now and then, and within a few minutes the cross faded away.
Then, to my shock, the outline of a fancy cup, which I would later come to know as a chalice, FADED INTO VIEW. That's when I stopped my bicycle and just stared. How the heck does something like that fade INTO view? It was just as precise as the cross - a clear outline in cloud material, below the overcast layer. Then it too faded away.
Then, a third outline, clear as the nose on your face, faded in. It too was a cup, but didn't have a weighted middle piece like a chalice, but looked like a goblet of sorts, and it was at an angle, like it was being drunk out of, or being poured out. After about a minute or two it faded away.
I waited for a few minutes after that to see if anything else was going to fade into view, but nothing did. I wasn't in any sort of trance, nor did I have some sort of dream like vision. This didn't happen in my "mind's eye" - this was all seen with my two eyes to my own shock and amazement.
If this has any sort of meaning, I'm at a loss to figure out what it is. I know all three of these things are symbols in their own right, but as to what might the appearance of these three things to me in this way might mean - 26 years later, and I still have no idea.
Weird, huh?

My Mum, God rest her, was as honest as the day is long and I never had reason to doubt her in every day matters ever but she swore blind that Alnwick Castle in Northumberland is populated by a host of interesting, super-natural folk. To name but one (there are several but none recurring such as this), she described to me an experience she had as a child of seeing a young woman wandering about in flowing robes. 20 years later she saw the same woman who acknowlaged her with a nodding and smiling look. And 30 years later still, she had a conversational experience with the same lady (although no actual words were uttered) relating to husbands away at war and felt a real and tearful, emotional bond to the girl...
I was always a bit of a 'yeah right mother, course you did!' kind of bloke until one day I was out walking with her in the Peak District, strolling along the route of an old Roman road. I saw her stoop and without even looking down, she retrieved a Roman Coin from a crevice between two stones. When I asked her, in stunned amazement I might add, how she could possibly know it was there, she told me hesitantly and quite vacantly, that she'd "dropped it a while ago". Talk about gob-smacked.
My sister still has the coin which was subsequently identified and authenticated at the Castle Museum in York.
I personally have never had any such visions from beyond but I was impressed that day I can tell you. Never have got my head around that...
