Kilted Geocacher
So last weekend, my family and I went to a geocaching luncheon. Lots of fun, met lots of great people. I decided to go kilted (sorry no pics this time) and wore my SWK Blackwatch with hiking boots, hiking socks and a geocaching longsleeve shirt. So immediately my boys (5&7 years old) demand that they had to wear theirs also! Needless to say, we were voted best dressed.
We only received on poor comment and that was on our way in to the restaraunt. One of local girls had pointed and laughed and shrieked "They're wearing skirts!". In a split second I weighed my options: 1) Take the high road and say nothing or 2) Comment on her ancestory and lack of breeding. My wife beat me to the punch line though and corrected the mealy mouthed wench. Quite satisfying.

Lol... Funny. Yeah, I got into geocaching this past summer too.. In fact, one of the picture threads I put up on here (http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/h...x.html?t=40616) was from me going up to plant a new geocache into the middle of nowhere, at the top of a mountain. :-)
Hope that the fun you had made up for the inconsideration you had to witness later!
Kilt on!

This is what I love about this forum. Two hours ago I knew nothing about geocaching and after a quick on-line search I've found a group not far from me.

I have gone geocaching in a kilt a couple of times. Geocaching a lot of time is just hiking through the backwoods. I can think of nothing id rather wear hiking than a kilt.

I have been Caching a few times kilted, the only draw back i had on day was, bushwacking in the summer, and i had to squat down to get a better look. WOW what a surprise i got. This is a family forum so thats as far as i will go.

I've not yet gone caching kilted but desperately want. I just don't want to take the kilts I have now out (we do some serious bushwacking). I'm hoping to get a rugged UK, then watch out!

Sounds like it was a great luncheon, in spite of the ignorance shown by the girls.
